When the kids are sick - make cookies

When other people in my life are stressing me out, I feel an overwhelming need to bake.  Cookies always make things better.

And, when you don't have a whole lot in the house to bake with, and your already headed to the gas station for the worlds largest diet coke, all you need to do is peruse the candy aisle.

Hello milk duds. How are you?

To be honest, I never venture far from the chocolate chips and though these cookies were mighty tasty, most of them were UGLY! The caramel from the milk duds oozed and goozed itself all over the cookie sheet and then hardened like a brittle.

The second pan, I did a better job wrapping the candy inside the cookie. They weren't as ugly.

Anyway - all you need is this:
yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter, melted
one egg
one box of milk duds

Mix the cake mix, the egg, and butter together. Stir in the milk duds or make little balls with the batter, make an indentation and set a candy or two on top.

bake at 350 degrees for about 7 minutes.
